This question really should more be placed what job’s if I had enough money wouldn’t I do for free? This isn’t typical of everyone, but I learned through my upbringing, the Bible, and personal experience that work has value to add to your life; however, some jobs I would only do paid and two I really, really don’t want to do even if you paid me. One of those jobs I have had to do it, but I wouldn’t even accept a paid position for it if I was offered a job in that field.

My oephidophobia doesn’t stop me from walking through a zoo or being willing to cut off a serpents head, but it’s enough to where I could never ever handle snakes! I feel the disposition of Harrison Ford everytime as Indiana Jones I see him roll his eyes and say snakes, why did it have to be snakes? Then again seeing Brent Spiner walk up to someone and say, “Hello, have you seen two gentlemen and an oephidian?” from the episode of star trek two men and a snake.

Despite that the kind of snake I have handled is a pipe snake, but I have too good of a sense of smell to be a honey dipper. As long as I can afford it I would choose to have a plumber come in than deal with any plumbing issues.
Other jobs I wouldn’t do for free, but have been paid to do is food service, sales, and delivery.

Otherwise jobs I would be willing to do and have skills enough to do at least for not fully skilled labor is: Construction, Writing, Physical therapy, Massage, Information Technology, Electrical, Personal training, Mechanics, Data Analysis, Political Science, Proofreading, Retail, Coding, and Graphic design. I would do any of these as long as I had enough money to make it from month to month.

That being said, I wish our government would focus on offering more compensation for volunteer hours to people instead of focusing on cracking down on government assistance. I wouldn’t mind tax dollars going to pay people for work that a non-profit organization can’t pay for than to subsidize lack of work. There are plenty of needs for anything from document handlers to filling holes in walls that unskilled labor could do; however, I know that in my area the gigwork market claims to be saturated, but having worked it before I know that not to be entirely accurate.
I have heard it said that generation Z doesn’t want to work, but I see it as any generation wants to make their money as effective as possible. They want to see fruit for their labours, and as always some don’t want to work. That doesn’t mean that everyone is bad or wrong, but it was said of my generation that they didn’t want to work. Young people are usually told more often to “work smarter, not harder”, but why are those ideas mutually exclusive? You should work hard to work smart, and vice versa to improve production so you can earn and produce more. If you are given power to get wealth it doesn’t mean that you have to give it away, but more importantly you should be able to hire and teach others to work as effectively as you. If you are able to use AI to get a goodly amount of gain then you should do something to help others to be able to do more or volunteer your work in other capacities. Don’t lose yourself and your value just because you have cash, but use that freedom to do more for those around you.
Sometimes, I have thought of getting on Amazon Affiliates or Clickbank to make this blog profitable so I can support my other habits of volunteering my skills and resources; however, I haven’t had peace about doing so just yet. Maybe I will one day, but consider how you might find the joy of work and just do it!
