Fun Story Friday: Star Wars Day

In honor of Star Wars Day and Sith Day I will write a new Star Wars story in introduction as usual, because writing a full book might take too long. Sadly, I would love to do that; however, based upon audience responsiveness I may or may not pick up the story again.

The year is 1,520 on the planet Alderaan. My name is Seo Xaran, but most people know me as Lord Revan. My day started off like any other day in the life of a sith. Manipulate a few bystanders, plot gaining power, and generally cause mayhem. I am on my way in to see my master Darth Sidious. He has a plan for people we have gathered to bring to Mustafar the ocean planet. The silly little Jedi are mounting a resistance, but they don’t even know what it means to rise from slave to sith.

“Greetings master, obedience brings victory. Victory is life.”- Revan

“Well met mesa slave, but don’t forget you are a Darth. Commanding respect through force is the path you be doing.”-Sidious

“Indoubitably, which is why I love the old greetings. Teaching others to obey me is to guide them in the path of power and the Sith. Your wise instruction has helped.” – Revan

“Flattery will get you everything. Obedience is great, and important, but there is something betterous than fear. Admiration.”-Sidious

Sidious knocks over some cups from a table as he falls over.

“Master, are you not well?”- Revan

“No, me so clumsy. I wasn’t so before, but meesa clumsy now. I will be betterous soony soon.”- Sidious

“I have gathered the last of the people you require master.”- Revan

“Good meesa student. My love is on Mustafar where my peeples live. We will go there to save her life, and make our love eternal.”- Sidious

“Master, you also promised me unlimited power for this service.”- Revan

“If I’ma right there will be enough power for all, and everyone can be brought back to our service. Nobody must stays dead today.”- Sidious

“A victory without loss. This would help the Sith have power without the loss of unnecessary casualties.”- Revan

“Death could teach and guide us, but more than that. They would come back to uses as new acolyte’s. Wesa would have greater control in the force as wesa should to gain power.”- Sidious

The duo enter the ship packed with people as the vessel closes and ascends…

Later above Mustafar.

“Wesa will land on the little portion of Mustafar that isa land. Do nota fear peeples. Soon we will all have power witha the force.”- Sidious

The ship lands on a small platform where a small island sits barely enough to fit the people from the ship.

“Join hands with us in a star shape and wesa will make this place into a paradise as wesa become strong.”- Sidious

Willingly all of the people formed a star pattern over the ground holding hands. Sidious and I stood in the center interlocking our arms and hands with each middle set of people touching us. We began to channel the force through us and the water began dissipating in a swirl around us. It turned into an immense hurricaine as the people around us started being sucked up into the storm. We felt the power grow with each death until the water level kept lowering and the water began heating hotter and hotter around us. Ships from the water people below began taking off and a few made it out, but most of them were destroyed. The gungan woman of the same species as sidious floated above and into our space in the vortex, but I noticed she was already a long time dead. She began to recomplie into a normal looking gungan, when breath came into her. The other gungan’s from the water began dying.

“Master, is this the plan?”- Revan

“It musta be so. Trusta the plan.”-Sidious

I didn’t let go until I felt the force begin draining from my body. I knew the power was not going to be shared as Sidious was draining all force elements around him. I let go and the water that became lava dropped coving parts of the land. Where once a waterworld existed now there was a world of lava ready for mining, but this was not the plan. Obedience had not brought victory, but destruction. I was laying on the ground in the fetal position, but I don’t remember falling.

“Comea my mistress of doom. My love and being. This riff-raff will be soona dead.”- Sidious

He left in the ship we had come on. The hand of fate was my home before, but now I lost everything. The ash in the air made it so hard to breathe. I couldn’t feel the force anymore, but I must have still had access, because it took hours to locate another ship. Once I found a working vessel I departed Mustafar unable to undo the damage we had done, but I somehow felt something unusual. I felt remorse. I hadn’t felt that since I was an acolyte, and now I needed redemption. For the first time ever I saw a reason to reach out to the Jedi. Betrayal may be a way of life for the sith, but I can’t shut off my feelings with anger the way I used to.

I couldn’t go back to Alderaan, and Mustafar was a dead planet now. I needed a way to find the Jedi, but I didn’t know how. I went to Naboo seeking some guide to get a hold of any Jedi. As I arrived on the planet covered in grass and fruit bushes it seemed like maybe some experiment had killed a small portion. This didn’t bode well for the planets future, but it would be good for the next thousand years, so it wasn’t a terrible concern yet. I went into the local cantina knowing that smugglers often encountered the resistance.

I walked up to the bartender and asked about the Jedi or any connection to a smuggler that might have encountered them. I knew to claim to be a bounty hunter to not draw unwanted attention. He pointed out a Wameri sitting at a table. These people were so small that they never seemed to be a threat, but they were also long lived, so you never knew how old he might be. Having had a gungan for a master I knew this wouldn’t be so difficult of a conversation, but it’s rumored all wameri are force sensitives. I may have lost my force abililties, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help me on this new path.

So as to not present a problem I decided to send the little green creature a drink. It may not work, but at least it’s a start that no Sith would bother with. We were taught only to play to powerful emotions as the weaker ones gave no power. This was no ruse, and I knew I was no match for a Jedi anymore; however, they were the only ones that could help me. I approached the table and sat down expecting to be sent flying back.

“Hello, my name is Seo and I am looking to get in contact with someone that could help me. Who am I addressing?… Look I really need help and I think only the Jedi can provide that help… What do I have to do to get you to talk?”- Revan

“I know Darth Revan you are, and trust you I cannot.”- Haru

“I was Darth Revan, but something my master did left me without the force. Now I feel the pain of what I have done, and the need to redeem those actions as well.”- Revan

“Redemption the path to power it is not. Misleading you may be.”- Haru

“Have you ever known a Sith to try and infiltrate the Jedi like this? They care for only the raw emotion and power it provides to control others.”- Revan

“New things could be. Sith not succeed. New plan they might try.”- Haru

“You can keep me cordoned off from the other initiate’s so I won’t accidentally infect them with ideas of the Sith for now. The worst case is you try and convert me to your teachings, and push me out if I am a liar. The best case you convert a Sith and show that we aren’t all beyond redemption.” – Revan

“Truth you speak, but know not an ability the Jedi have. The force strong in you I feel, but truth I sense too. Bring you to the counsil I will. Know where we go you cannot.” – Haru

“Thank you, who do I have the honor of addressing?” – Revan

“Haru, may you call me.”- Haru

I was blind folded and taken aboard a ship. I knew that’s where I was when we went into hyperspace. We came out of hyperspace and flew down, but how they could help me was still a looming question in my mind. We walked for only a few seconds before entering a building and being brought through a long open path. Maybe it was through rooms or not, but I did hit multiple things along my path. I didn’t complain as it could just be a small pennance for the lives of Jedi I have taken over my career. Even the suffering I felt from my own actions didn’t match the hurt of the bruises I acquired. Still blindfolded I heard Haru’s voice.

“Called this gathering of master’s I have. This sith for help from us asked. Darth Revan he claims no longer. A delve I recommend as no force powers he claims.” – Haru

“Master Haru, a delve is painful if he doesn’t open up to us. He also may just be us unleashing another Sith that has killed Jedi into the world.” – unknown voice 1

“Yes, but pain in him I feel. The way of peace needed is.” – Haru

I decided to speak up “Please, I don’t know what to do, but I know that the sith have no answers for me. I went from being oppressed to being an oppressor and when my powers were stripped away all I felt was emptiness. My life needs a purpose.” – Revan

“Master’s how can we turn away a plea for peace? No matter the results the value of seeing one turn from darkness to light is worth it.” – Unknown voice 2

“Indeed, yet we cannot risk the safety of others as he might try to gain power that way. He’ll need to be isolated.” – Unknown voice 1

“Agreed to this he already has.” – Haru

Immediately I was taken to a locked room and finally the blindfold came off.

“Here you must stay. A verdict reached it will be, but how helped is up to you.” – Haru

“Wait, what can I do? I was taught to build my rage to access the force, but that no longer works.” – Revan

“Work anymore it will not, on the force meditate. Your mind must clear be. The truth test unexpected it must be. Preparation unnecessary it is, learn peace you should.” – Haru

“While I am here could I choose another name?” – Revan

“If so another name choose you must.” – Haru

“Then I would like to be called Kirius after the Jedi who escaped me and Arteem after the first Jedi I ever slayed. They deserve a legacy.” – Revan

“Honorable it is, but friends win will it not.” – Haru

“Wait, I have one more personal question. What is your people truly called? We call you wameri, but how did that come?” – Revan

A human word this is from forest elf, but tell you our name in this tongue I cannot. Destroy my people and maybe the force it would.” – Haru
