What do you come up with for the car company that once upon a time set the standard of luxury and now sets the standard on overpriced? Welcome to the story of the company that once was the standard of high quality in all things during the 1960’s. Cadillac currently rates average in quality having customer reports ranging from highly reliable to severe vehicle issues from production. This isn’t just my opinion, but was published on GMauthority.com in December of 2023.

The general trend of Cadillac is that percentage chance of cadillac EV’s and PHEV’s are 75-146% more likely to have a significant issues over their other kinds of vehicles. Gasoline and Diesel engines are average 57 point rating in likelihood of needed repairs including severe powertrain issues and cabin trim repairs. Hybrid vehicles are actually their best product being 26% better than Cadillac’s other vehicle types. This is why buying the cadillac of shoes used to mean “the best shoes”, but now it means “Why didn’t you buy something better for the cost?”

The best product of Cadillac even then to now isn’t pickup’s, SUV’s, or crossover vehicles. Cadillac was known for the best sedan’s as their bread and butter, which is still the case. The value rating of 51 and 45 for pickups and SUV’s means that to reach a point score of 57 their sedan’s have to have a rating close to 73… That’s not spectacular, but it is better than the rest of your choices.
Long story short if you want the name cadillac with the problems of possible major repairs don’t, don’t, don’t go big with Cadillac. Probably better to go home, but at least go home in a coupe. Get a small hybrid vehicle, which is no surprise as GM is partnered with Honda and they are best with smaller hybrids as well.

Overall Cadillac says they set the standard, but are 16th out of 30. Can you hear them shout, “There’s still a 1 in there!”?
Do they even set any trends in body style or classy looks? Not really, like their quality the sedans have a bit of class to their looks, but the SUV’s and trucks look like they imitated other manufacturers or at least were trying to as like my acronym up top they struggled to fit together a worthwhile image. For the car manufacturer that claims to be known for setting the standard they didn’t set any new standards for SUV’s or trucks.
